OUTPUT ACADEMIC

Guest speakers, prizes, reading

The former "Day of Computer Science" will from now on be part of OUTPUT.DD, featuring its main subjects in the ACADEMIC part. Its highlight is a guest lecture, where prominent IT professionals from allover the world give insight into their specific area of work and thereby demonstrate the synergies between science and economy.

Corporate partners honor outstanding student projects, supporting and motivating young computer science researchers. SAP's Research Center CEC sponsors a prize for the best dissertation, AMD grants the honor of a prize for the best diploma and IBM Germany awards prizes to the three best 4th-term undergraduate students.

Furthermore, the book "Heinz' Life" will be presented by a reading. It depicts the career of a fictive IT professional starting in the 1960s and reaching until the year 2003 (www.heinz-life.de). The book was born as a Wiki project to which nearly 50 authors, among them Prof.
Hantzschmann (Rostock/Dresden) and Prof. Schill (Dresden), contributed.
It was published by Hanser and was introduced during CeBIT 2010.
